Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) announces a new partnership with the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of British Columbia (RMTBC). This collaboration will ensure the continued publication and the future development of the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (IJTMB). Both organizations are committed to advancing massage therapy research.

Effective immediately, IJTMB will be the “official journal” of both MTF and RMTBC. Registered and licensed massage therapists will continue to have the opportunity to receive the latest peer-reviewed, open-access scientific massage therapy research.

Currently, the journal is expanding its reach through social media under the leadership of the Interim Executive Editor, Ann Blair Kennedy, LMT, BCTMB, DrPH. The IJTMB editorial board has also developed a mentoring program for new and established authors who would like to submit to the journal.

“This is an exciting moment for both the Massage Therapy Foundation and the future of IJTMB,” said MTF President Jerrilyn Cambron, LMT, DC, MPH, PhD. “RMTBC is an excellent organization to help expand the reach of this prestigious journal. We could not be more pleased to partner with them.”

“We are looking forward to working with MTF to bring the journal to a whole new level,” states RMTBC Executive Director Brenda Locke. “Moving forward, we will be enhancing our members’ access to research and the opportunity to participate in research projects.”

The RMTBC and MTF have signed a two-year contract, allowing each organization an opportunity to develop meaningful enhancements for the journal.

IJTMB is the only online, peer-reviewed, open access scientific journal for the massage and bodywork profession, and is available free of subscription fees and author publication fees. The journal publishes quarterly articles on research, education, and practice. More information can be found at www.ijtmb.org.
