Massage Therapy Foundation Appoints Teri Mayo as Executive Director
Evanston, IL, September 18, 2024—The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) announces the appointment of Teri Mayo, BA, LMT, as new Executive Director. With over 29 years of experience in rehabilitative practices and as a licensed massage therapist, alongside her extensive leadership roles in healthcare administration and the nonprofit sector, Mayo brings a wealth of knowledge and proven expertise to MTF.
Mayo’s professional journey is distinguished by her ownership of a medical massage clinic and her work with healthcare institutions, including Swedish Medical Group and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of Pushing Boundaries, a paralysis exercise therapy center. Mayo’s contributions to nonprofit organizations have been significant, and her dedication to improving lives through healthcare services is unwavering.
In her new role, Mayo will lead the Foundation’s operations, including staff oversight, fundraising initiatives, and the development of innovative programming. Her leadership will drive MTF’s mission forward, with a focus on fostering collaborations with allied professionals and advancing the integration of massage therapy within broader healthcare systems.
