Massage Therapy Foundation
Selects 2023 Boston Marathon® Running Team

(Evanston, Ill., January 25, 2023) The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) announces its 2023 Boston Marathon Team runners: Marshall Dahneke, Rulon Dahneke, David Gonzalez, Dennis Jones, and Theresa Seitz. The event will take place on Monday, April 17, 2023.

Meet the team:

Marshall Dahneke, Provo, Utah, who qualified independently for the Boston Marathon, is fundraising via The Jacquelyn Project launched in honor of his late daughter. His project aligns with MTF and raises funds to aid breast cancer patients, survivors, and care givers via MTF’s Community Service projects.

Rulon Dahneke, Provo, Utah, is passionate about massage therapy and raising funds in honor of his late sister’s battle with breast cancer. In his first marathon in Boston, he looks forward to channeling his love for running and MTF’s Community Service initiative to support in-need and disadvantaged populations from diverse backgrounds.

David Gonzalez, Hollywood, Fla., is a Licensed Massage Therapist and instructor specializing in sports massage; Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant; Emergency Medical Technician; and Associate Professor Senior and Coordinator/Director of the Massage Therapy Program at Miami Dade College, Miami, Fla.

Dennis Jones, Oakland, Fla., is an active triathlete and owner of Winter Garden Wheel Works (Winter Garden, Florida) retail bicycle shop. Through his business he has participated in many charity fundraising events, with his own business holding an annual breast cancer fundraiser bicycle ride.

Theresa Seitz, Windermere, Fla., is a small business entrepreneur, marathon runner, and massage enthusiast who has run over 40 full marathons and looks forward to her first Boston run and raising funds to aid underserved populations who need care through MTF’s Community Service projects.

Team MTF is raising money and creating awareness for the Massage Therapy Foundation. Over the past ten years, this program has raised a total of $531,074 for the Foundation. This year, Team MTF has a goal of raising $60,000.

MTF is proud to be an official Partner of John Hancock in its Marathon Non-Profit Program. Through this program, John Hancock helps foster healthier, more equitable communities by annually donating 1,000 Boston Marathon® entries to select non-profit organizations who use them for fundraising. Last year, John Hancock Non-Profit Runners raised $11.7M for their causes.
